We invite you to a free tour for people with dementia and their companions. In the spirit of participation-oriented mediation, the focus is on the stories and associations of the visitors. The sensory experience and enjoyment of art is not lost, even if people find it increasingly difficult to remember or orient themselves. We would like to invite people with dementia and their relatives or companions to experience a wonderful moment in the exhibition. We speak in simple language and take time for all thoughts, questions and memories. We take barrier-free paths. Fade Into You - Video screening

The young Filmmm initiative organizes experimental and artistic film screenings in Mainz. For the current exhibition, it is curating the screening series Fade into You and presenting a program of short films formally dedicated to friendship. A warm invitation to sit together and watch moving images. Mainz - Postcolonial: Tours for and through Mainz Neustadt

The Mainz - Postcolonial tours aim to give people in Mainz a new, different approach to (their) city. The aim is to show that Mainz was involved in colonialism, to make its traces visible and to sensitize people to its continuing effects. The term post-colonial refers to the fact that colonialism is not merely a past era of conquest. It is a system of power, oppression and exploitation whose structures influence our lives today. There are numerous examples in Mainz Neustadt, from street and place names such as Sömmerringplatz and Adenauer-Ufer to the Mainz customs port, which we want to critically explore together. The tours will be held in German.
